Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an order related to the clarification regarding opening of shops in rural and urban areas as people were bombarded with longing confusions. It is clarified that in rural areas all shops will remain open for essential commodities similarly it is implacable in urban areas as well to ensure fulfillment of essential commodities demand and supply chain including standalone shops,neighbourhood shops in residential complexes.whereas non esstantial shops such as shop in market complexes and shopping malls will be closed.
However all shopping malls are instructed to remain close and not to open until the further instructions from MHA. Further ministry instructed that e-commerce companies will sell only essential items selling non essential items is prohibited.Further the sale of liquor items are continue to prohibited as directed and specified in the National Directives for COVID-19 management.
Shops that are allowed to open in respective areas and are not allowed to open in containment zones declared by respective states and UTs.
The clarification of MHA implies that:
• In rural areas all shops will be open except those in shopping malls are allowed to open.
• In urban areas all standalone shops,neighbourhood shops and shops in residential complexes are allowed to open shops in market but shopping malls are not allowed to open.
• E commerce companies will sale only essential items.
• Sale of liquor will be prohibited.

After the lockdown announced due to covid-19 shops were directed to remain close to control the spread of corona virus and maintaining social distancing but as the situation is in control govt. is gradually opening the shops and hinting towards opening lockdown.But hotspot zones and containment zones will follow the strict rules to fight global pandemic.
