PM Modi recalls ideas of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Tagore while attending convocation at Visva Bharati University

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the convocation ceremony of Visva Bharati University via video-conferencing. PM hailed the New Education Policy for innovation and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He recalled the ideas and living mantras of Gurudev Tagore and Veer Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, in his message.

PM Narendra Modi on Friday takes part in the convocation ceremony of Visva-Bharati University, via video conferencing. Addressing the students and staff of the University PM delivered a key address. Remembering the thoughts and visions of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore, PM hailed the efforts being made by his Govt. for bringing New Education Policy a step towards making the country a global knowledge power.

"It is inspiring and delightful to take part in this convocation ceremony. It would have been good if I had come there personally to take part in the ceremony today but due to the new rules I am taking part from far in this event through video conferencing", says Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his opening remarks.

He further said that this is for the second time he has got this opportunity to interact with them. "I am congratulating and wishing all Teachers, staff members, and especially the students for their bright future. Today is a special day because today it's the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Ji", he adds.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered the thoughts of Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj said, "We should not forget the ideas of the Veer Shivaji who fought for a united and strong nation. We should keep remembering and living this mantra each and every moment".

Prime Minister also remembered the visions of the Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore and said that he could have given this University the other name like 'Global University', but he named 'Visva Bharati Vishwavidyalaya' and he said, "Visva Bharati acknowledges India's obligation to offer to others the hospitality of our base culture and India's right to accept from others their best". 

Further in his address during the convocation ceremony, PM said that it is in our hands what we decide if we want to be a part of the problem or the solution. "What you do depends on whether your mindset is positive or negative. There is scope for both of them. The path is open for both of them. It is in our hands to decide if we want to be a part of the problem or the solution", PM said at the convocation ceremony of Visva-Bharati University through video conferencing.

"Many people who are spreading terror & violence across the world are highly educated, highly skilled. On the other hand, there are people who are risking their lives & stationed at hospitals & labs to save people from a pandemic like COVID. It's not about ideology but mindset".

He further said that if you start seeing the world rising above your personal view to a vast Country's view you will certainly start seeing solutions amid the difficulties. If your intentions are pure and your loyalty is to 'Ma Bharati', your every decision will take you towards solutions, Prime Minister added.

Prime Minister hailed the efforts of Corona-warriors especially Medical staff, Nurses, and scientists who contributed their days and nights for the nation during the pandemic.

PM Modi addressing the ceremony of Visva Bharati University said that the new National Education Policy is a major step towards the Atmanirbhar Bharat and it will give us the strength to research and innovation.

"India cannot be 'Atmanirbhar' without the self-confidence of its daughters, The Policy having gender inclusion funds a major step towards the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat", PM said in his address.
