Nepal opened fire across Indian Border, One killed, two injured: Reports

Bihar-Nepal Border: In Bihar one people dead, two injured in firing in Sitamarhi near India-Nepal border, confirmed Sashastra Seema Bal IG of Bihar sector. Locals allege it was caused due to firing from Nepal side, ANI News Agency reported on Friday. Today, Nepali Police shot dead an Indian & injured two others opening fire at border, locals said to News Agency.

The incidence happened just two days after Nepal's parliament passed a bill claiming several Indian Territory spots as theirs. Nepal on Wednesday launched the new official map, which depicts Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh as part of its territory. In reply to the Nepalese action India’s External Affairs Ministry (MEA) spokesperson Anurag Srivastava had hit out at Nepal’s claims, saying, “Such artificial enlargement of territorial claims will not be accepted by India.” He also urged the Nepali leadership for a dialogue over the issue.

However after the firing reports from across Nepal Border on social media some users termed the firing was provoked as per instructions from China. None of the source clarified and signalle any such report.

A user wrote that "Nepal has turned against India & reports are coming that Nepal Army is firing across border".

Following the report an Defence Expert from Nepal tweeted "One Indian killed and several injured in Nepal Police firing. Nepal police fired because a group of Indians were forcibly trying to enter Nepal. Nepal is a country and it has its own border. India needs to learn to respect that."

Nepal is a Hindu religion country and its borders with India have remained open since Indian Agreement with Nepalese leaders decades ago.
