Navy Day 2020: There are dual challenge of COVID19 and Chinese attempts to change the status quo, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh said on Thursday. Navy Chief adds that the Indian Navy is fully prepared to face these challenges and in close coordination with the Indian Army and Indian Air Force.

There is dual challenge- COVID19 and Chinese attempts to change the status quo at the Line of Actual Control. The Navy is prepared to face both these challenges, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh said on the occassion of Navy Day 2020.

Speaking on the Indian Navy’s role in the ongoing conflict with China, Admiral Singh said that attempts to change status quo along northern borders and COVID-19 posed new challenges', but the Navy is prepared to face both these challenges. "We have an SOP to tackle the situation if there is an infringement by the Chinese research vessels", he adds.

The Navy’s activities are in close coordination and synergy with the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. To fill the capability gap in our surveillance 2 Predator drones are taken on lease and helping us, said Navy Chief.
