Maldives Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid thanks the Indian government for the "generous donation" of COVID vaccines; Says, "On behalf of the people and the Government of the Maldives, and in my own name, I thank the friendly people and the Government of India, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Maldives is now the largest Covid-19 assistance recipient in India’s neighborhood including medicine supply, food supply, medical team, training, and financial assistance of $250 million.

India Not only protects the territorial integrity of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean but also provides timely humanitarian aid whenever the need arises. This gesture by the Indian Government denotes the close ties between India and Maldives.
