India's Current COVID-19 Positivity Rate: Daily Cases Drop, Recoveries Rise

India COVID-19 Update: Today, India recorded 2,51,209 lakh new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country's total number of infections to 4,06,22,709. The number of new cases recorded was 13% lower than the previous day's daily peak of 2.86 lakh cases. In addition, 627 more deaths were reported in the country, bringing the total number of Covid-related fatalities to 4,92,327.

Currently, there are 21 lakh active cases in the country. Active cases currently account for 5.18 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has climbed somewhat to 93.6 percent. Details about India's current COVID-19 positivity rate are given below.

India's Current COVID-19 Positivity Rate

The daily positivity rate - the proportion of coronavirus tests that return positive and is considered a vital indicator of the pandemic's condition - has dropped from 19.59 percent to 15.88 percent, while the weekly positivity rate has remained stable at 17.47 percent.

Nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive in India has surpassed 164.4 crore doses. The first doses were given to 89.1 crore people, while the second doses were given to 69.9 crore people.
