India COVID-19 Update Jan 24: According to India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country documented 3,06,064 new COVID-19 cases with a positive rate of over 20% on Monday, indicating a decrease in daily COVID-19 infections. According to government data, there were 27,469 fewer new infections on Monday than on Sunday. The daily COVID-19 positivity rate, on the other hand, increased to 20.75 percent from 17.78 percent yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 14,74,753 tests were completed, whereas 18,75,533 tests were completed on Sunday.
According to the ministry, India's active caseload is currently 22,49,335 cases. It makes up 5.69 percent of the total number of cases. According to government data, 439 people have died as a result of the virus in the last 24 hours. The death toll has now reached 4,89,848 people. The fatality rate, in this case, is 1.24 percent. In the last 24 hours, 2,43,495 people have recovered from the infection, bringing the total number of people who have recovered to 3,68,04,145. The current weekly positivity rate is 17.03 percent.
Nationwide COVID-19 Vaccination Drive: So far, 162.26 crore vaccine doses have been given out. According to provisional reports as of 7 a.m. today, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage had reached 1,62,26,07,516 people, with more than 27 lakh vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours. To date, eligible beneficiaries have received 81,80,165 precaution doses. Healthcare workers received 27,40,418 of them, while frontline workers received 26,87,668 and those over 60 with comorbidities received 27,52,079 of them.
