India COVID-19 Cases Today: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Friday that India had reported 2,64,202 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 14.78 percent. India recorded 2,47,417 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, which is 6.7 percent more than yesterday's statistics.
State Wise Increase: Maharashtra reported 46,406 new COVID-19 cases today, Delhi 28,867 new COVID-19 cases, Karnataka 25,005 new COVID cases, Tamil Nadu 20,911 new cases, West Bengal 23,467 new cases, Uttar Pradesh 14,765 new COVID-19 cases, Kerala 13,468 new cases, and the rest of the cases were reported by other states.
Active Cases & COVID-19 Positivity Rate: With the addition of new cases, India's total COVID-19 cases now stand at 3,65,82,129, with 12,72,073 active cases. Active cases make up 3.48 percent of the total number of cases. In the last 24 hours, 17,87,457 tests were performed, yielding a daily positivity rate of 14.78 percent, which is slightly higher than yesterday. The positivity rate was 13.11 percent on Thursday. Furthermore, with 69.90 crore total tests conducted so far, the weekly positivity rate in the country reached 11.83 percent.
Omicron Infections: Omicron Cases India had 5,753 cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 among the new infections reported in the country. The daily Omicron tally has increased by 4.83 percent since yesterday, according to the health ministry.
COVID-19 Deaths: According to the health ministry, a single-day increase of 315 deaths pushed India's death toll to 4,85,350.
COVID-19 Recoveries: In the last 24 hours, 1,09,345 recoveries were reported, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 3,48,24,706. The current recovery rate is 95.20 percent.
Vaccination: In terms of COVID-19 vaccination, over 155.39 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
