IIT Madras to test all students residing in hostels as spurt in symptomatic cases reported in hostels

IIT Madras on Monday said that arrangements are being made to test all students residing in hostels for COVID. The announcement comes after spurt in symptomatic cases was reported by some students residing in hostels.

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras makes a statement to take a COVID test of all students residing in hostels. After an increase in number of symptomatic cases among the hostel students of IIT, administration decides to take COVID test of all students residing in the hostels.

According to a report covered by news agency ANI, Institute has been functioning at limited capacity with 10 per cent of students in hostels. "IIT Madras has been functioning on limited capacity with only 10% students in hostels. As soon as spurt in symptomatic cases was reported by some students residing in hostels, the Institute arranged for all students residing in hostels to be tested for COVID", IIT Madras Statement reads.
