A Mi17 Helicopter of the Indian Air Force crashes on Wednesday, December 08 in Coimbatore Tamil Nadu. According to the media reports, a total of 14 persons including CDS Bipin Rawat his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 7 other military personnel boarded the copter. It is reported that the crash took place near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu.
Based on the latest visuals provided by the media sources, the visuals of the Mi17 Helicopter crash show that there could be fatalities. However, the status of the passengers is yet to be ascertained and not available at the time of the news report.
While confirming the accident, the Indian Air Force tweeted, "An IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter, with CDS Gen Bipin Rawat on board, met with an accident today near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. An Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident".
According to the News18 media sources, a total of 14 passengers were on board including- CDS Bipin Rawat, Madhulika Rawat, Brig LS Lidder, Lt. Colonal Harjinder Singh, Nayak Gursevak Singh, NK Jitendra Singh, L/NK Vivek Kumar, L.NK B Sai Teja, Hav Satpal & five others.

December 08, 2:20 PM: Based on some unconfirmed sources, CDS Rawat has been rescued and transferred to a nearby Hospital. He has reported some burnt injuries, the source added.
