Ministry of Home Affairs (MJA) has directed all administrators, DGPs of all state, UTs and Commissioner of Police, Delhi to provide security to all Doctors, medical staff in respect of Covid19. Home Ministry on Saturday issued the directions to take immediate step to ensure safety of Doctors and Medical staff all across states and Union Territories. The notice has been issued to state administrations, DGPs and CP Delhi to provide necessary security to medical staff and doctors from immediate.
According to the MHA's directions dated April 11, 2020 Police security cover to be provided to all Doctors and Medical staff who visit places for screening of people to find symptoms of Covid19 disease and also to the places and Hospitals where patients who have been diagnosed Covid19 or suspected/ quarantined or housed.
Home Ministry directed yesterday administrations of all States, UTs for Doctors and Medical Staff' security amid Covid19 treatment/ testing and duty in quarantined/ housed cases. Taking a leaf from recent incidences of molestation, assault, whacking and abusing of Doctors and reference from Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, Home Ministry on Saturday issued directions for security of medical staff and Doctors.

Recently in Delhi a molestation and assault case of Safdarjung Doctors in Gautam Nagar area led Government and Authorities to take decision in this direction. In earlier cases incidence of whacking of Doctors in Indore and other states led authorities to must act for assuring security to Doctors and Medical staff during dealing with Covid19 patients.
State Police DGPs, CP Delhi and all state administrations are now to ensure security to Doctors and Medical staff with immediate effect, stated in MHA's directions. It is also requested in MHA's letter that necessary action may be taken for compliance of the said order.
