Here are the Highlights of PM Modi's interaction. PM Narendra Modi interacted with Sarpanches from all across the country on Panchayati Raj Day. All sarpanches joined the video conferencing through Doordarshan, from their homes following the social distancing norms. PM Narendra Modi. 'Those sarpanches who will be sharing their views will be doing so by joining the interaction at a Common Service Centre close to them.', PM tweeted.
PM Modi had a discussion with sarpanches to highlight the importance of rural economy in strengthening the country's overall development and to refer to the crisis everyone is facing in a united manner. Modi said during the interaction, 'The Coronavirus Pandemic has taught us that we have to become self- dependent.' PM said that the pandemic has taught us self-reliance for which he urged the villages to become self reliant for their sustenance.
'The villages in India have been given the mantra of - 'Do gaj doori' to maintain distance and follow social distancing norms in order to fight coronavirus pandemic.' , PM Modi said. Along with PM, Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was also a part of discussion and stated that PM is going to inaugurate two programmes today for the rural India.
PM Modi launched e- gram swaraj portal and a mobile application on the occasion of Panchayati Raj. PM says that many practices already adopted in villages will prove to be beneficial during this coronavirus crisis. People should drink kadha, also look at Ayush Ministry's guidelines on this. People should also use Aarogya Setu mobile app, he says.
PM Modi also inaugurated Swamitva scheme under which drone technology will be used in villages for division of the inhabited land. ' 'Broadband has reached more than 1.25 lakh panchayats. Not only that, the number of common service centres in villages is also crossing three lakh.' PM Modi said.
The mobile application launched will ensure that the development work is being carried out efficiently in rural areas and will bring our transparency and accountability in the system. E- gram portal will help in digitalization of operations. All the funds allocated can be seen on this portal. The government and sarpanches will be able to monitor the work development through this portal.
