High intensity Exercise ‘Ex-Kavach’ begins at Andaman sea, A report

‘Ex Kavach’ joint exercise between Tri-Services & Coast Guards has begun at Andaman sea. Increasing the interoperability among all three military arms will be the main objective. Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) is undertaking the exercise.

Ex-Kavach Joint exercise

A joint exercise between Tri-Services & Coast Guards code-named Ex Kavach has begun at Andaman sea under the aegis of Andaman and Nicobar Command. The exercise is being undertaken to fine-tune joint warfighting capabilities towards enhancing operational synergy between the Coast guard and Tri-services.

A wide range of security contingencies including multi-layer security, infiltration from the sea, simulated attacks on vital installations/assets, hijacking of merchant ships, and cross landings will be exercised.

Ever since the creation of Integrated Defense Staff under the leadership of CDS Bipin Rawat, the sole purpose is to increase the jointness between all the military wings. This step is a further development in that direction.
