Forty Lakh students to get amount of Scholarship & Cycles directly in accounts

The state Finance Secretary of Jharkhand has announced to provide the amount of Scholarships & Cycles directly to nearly 40 lakh students. Scholarship and cycle money will now go directly in beneficiaries’ accounts of about 40 lakh students in state this year, said Jharkhand state Finance Secretary Himani Pandey on Thursday. Lifting the ban from several Government schemes launched for students welfare including providing School Uniforms, Textbooks, Bicycles etc State Finance Secretary of Jharkhand, has announced to resume the beneficiary schemes and services shortly.

According to Secretary’s statement the amount of Scholarships, Dress and Cycle items will soon start transferring in the accounts of students of Jharkhand state. The Government of Jharkhand has lifted the ban on payment of funds for Scholarships/ Cycles under state govt scheme during the Corona period. Finance Secretary Himani Pandey on Thursday issued an order to let students avail the benefit of state Scholarships & Govt schemes.

About 40 lakh students will get benefit

The order of the Finance Secretary states that the amount of all scholarship schemes offered from the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Minorities, Jharkhand State Welfare Department will directly send amount of scholarships & other selected items including Cycles into beneficiary students’ accounts.

This will also be applicable for School Education, Sports and Scholarship Schemes for Women, Child Development and Social Security Department etc. Funds given by the Department of School Education and Literacy Development to purchase Bicycles and send amount directly to the students' accounts.

This recent development by State Department is also made for the State Government’s Bicycle Scheme for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Minorities.

Amount for Dress and textbook will also be sent

On Thursday Jharkhand state finance Secretary passed the bill related to fund for scholarships & other govt schemes to purchase Students’ attire including dress and books. The Department of School Education and Literacy would go purchasing children's attire and school kits & will also provide the facility this year, an official confirmed.

  • Bills related to sending funds to their accounts for purchasing textbooks from 9th to 12th standard is also tabled to pass.

  • The ban on payment of bills related to Matru Vandana Yojana has also been lifted.
