Delhi Police took ISIS-linked spouses into custody, allegedly in preparation for attack

Jahanzeb Shami and his wife Hina Vashir Begum were both arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell from Jamia Nagar in Delhi on Sunday morning. Delhi Police's Special Cell has arrested a couple belonging to terrorist organization Islamic State from Jamia Nagar in Delhi. Police claim that these people were involved in the conspiracy to carry out violence and attacks besides provoking the youth in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Jahanzeb Shami and his wife Hina Vashir Begum were both arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell from Jamia Nagar in Delhi on Sunday morning. Police claim that both terrorist organizations are connected to Khorasan module of Islamic State. And in the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act in India, apart from inciting people, they were involved in the conspiracy to commit violence and attacks. According to the police, both husband and wife are residents of Kashmir.

Police Statement In ISIS-linked Spouses

According to police sources, he was in contact with the big handler of the Islamic State in Afghanistan. Both came to Delhi in August after the internet stopped in Kashmir, took a rental house in Okhla Vihar in Jamia Nagar. Jahanjeb Shami has done B.Tech while Hina has done MCA. Heena also wrote in the Islamic State magazine. Both were planning suicide attacks in Delhi. Citizenship amendments across the country were in the conspiracy to incite people and spread violence against the law.

According to the police, these people were very active on social media to provoke people. A lot of material has been found against anti-CAA and community from their home. Laptops and mobiles have also been seized from the house. According to the police, there are some more people connected to them.
