As the nationwide lockdown due to Covid19 moved to its Day 16 on Thursday, the Coronavirus positive cases in India surged to 5,875 with total 169 deaths. On Day 16 of Lockdown, more than 400 cases reported from several parts of country. IndiaIndia on Day 16 of Lockdown inched closer to the 6,000 mark with state wise surge in numbers and new hotspots. As the country entered in day 16 of the three-week lockdown cases started reporting from different states, highest from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Kerala. Also a Resident Doctor or AIIMS Delhi found Coronavirus positive, on Thursday.
On Day 16 of Lockdown updates India added 591 new cases over the last 24 hours taking the total tally to 5,865 as per MOHFW data. According to the health ministry’s updates total Covid19 positive cases increased to 5865 out of which 5218 active cases, 478 cured, 169 deaths and 1 migrated. On 16th Day meeting of Group of Ministers held at state and central level. Several state governments have favoured extending the lockdown, The Supreme Court, meanwhile, has ordered that all testing should be put free amid health crises in country.
Odisha Government on Thursday extended the lockdown till 30 April at state level. Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik took the decision and also directed Centre to stop Air and Rail services till 30 April. Amid lockdown CM said that Food Safety will be our top priority. Educational institution in Odisha state to remain closes till 17 June.
In Maharashtra total no of cases increased to 1346 and out of which 746 patients are from Mumbai, state Health Minister said on Day 16 of Lockdown. Maharashtra has become the most affected Covid19 state in India where for last few days cases of Coronavirus positive are surging rapidly. Mumbai and Pune have registered several hotspots in regions. Warli Stadium has been converted in quarantine facility in Mumbai.
In Delhi Government identified 21 areas as most affected areas and sealed those hotspots. On lockdown Day 16 a Resident Doctor of AIIMS also found Covid19 positive and further the tracing started of persons who came in contact of Doctor.
PM initiated CARUNA team. CARUNA team to take samples, testing and other essential requisites across Medical centres and Hospitals. Central Government also launched Aarogya Setu IVRS for detection and suggestions.

Madhya Pradesh CM Chauhan has also sealed several areas in various districts. In total 16 districts Covid19 positive cases have been found in Madhya Pradesh.
In Jammu and Kashmir today 33 new cases found in UT. It is also ordered in Jammu and Kashmir that if a person hides FIR would be registered. Out of total 33 cases reported from Jammu and Kashmir UT, 30 were found from Jammu and 3 from Kashmir zonal.
Haryana Govt doubles salaries of Corona fighters including Doctors and Health workers. Several zones in Faridabad and Gurugram identified as containment zones. In Faridabad door to door screening and thermal scanning has been approved.
