COVID-19 India: Less Than 40 Thousand Cases Recorded For 2nd Consecutive Day

The coronavirus death rate in the country is 1.34 percent while the recovery rate currently stands above 97 percent. Daily COVID-19 cases in India are now on a stable trajectory & potential third wave threat seems to die down.

For back-to-back 2 days, less than 40 thousand cases have been reported in India. According to reported published by the Ministry of Health on Saturday morning, 39,097 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours and 546 people have succumbed to the infection. On 23rd June, 35,342 new cases were reported. In last 24 hours, 35,087 have recuperated, active cases increased by 3464 on Friday. 

Total COVID-19 Cases

Active cases of coronavirus in the country remain more than four lakhs. A total of 4 lakh 8 thousand people are still infected with the COVID-19, who are undergoing treatment. Since the beginning of the pandemic 3,13,32,159 cases have been reported. Out of these, 4,20,016 people have died. The good thing is that 3,05,03,166 people have also recovered

Vaccination Drive

As per the latest COVID-19 report published by the Health Department, till July 23,  42,78,82,261 corona vaccines have been administered across the country. In the last 24 hours 42 lakh 67 thousand vaccines were rolled out. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 45.45 crore people have been tested for potential infection in the last 24 hours. About 17 lakh COVID-19 samples tests were tested as of now. COVID-positivity rate is currently less than 3 percent. 

The coronavirus death rate in the country is 1.34 percent while the recovery rate currently stands at 97.35%. Active cases constitute 1.31% of total cases. India ranks seventh in the world in terms of active COVID-19 Infections.
