As per latest reports, India has registred 45,892 fresh COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours as per the information given by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday. After witnessing a minor decline till Tuesday, COVID-19 infections are now surging again as per latest report. India reported 43,733 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, which is 5 per cent less than Thursday.
India's total active coronavirus caseload currently stands at 4,60,704. Around 1.5 of the total COVID-19 cases in India are still active. The country also witnessed 817 deaths due to COVID-19 and with that the cumulative passings in the country due to viral infection have mounted to 4,05,028.
A total of 2,98,43,825 patients have so far recovered from COVID-19 and 44,291 patients have recuperated in the last 24 hours. Observing a positive, the recovery rate of the country currently stands at 97.18 percent.
The weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.37 per cent. Further, the daily positivity rate is now down to 2.42 per cent. COVID-19 positivity rate has been recoreded as less than 3 per cent for 17 consecutive days.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, cumulative total subjects tested up to July 7 are 42,52,25,897 including 18,93,800 samples tested on Wednesday
India commenced its COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 16 this year. Till date, 36.48 crore vaccines have been rolled out so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
