Cabinet Expansion: Education Minister Dr RP Nishank dropped from Cabinet due to health Issues

Ahead of the expansion of the Union Cabinet, Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has resigned from his post. Reportedly, the minister has cited the health reasons for being dropped as the Education Minister.

Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has been dropped from the Union Cabinet. Citing the health issues that Mr. Pokhriyal has been facing for the last couple of months, today on July 7, 2021, the minister resigned from his cabinet post. Along with him, Labour minister Santosh Gangwar has also resigned ahead of the Union Cabinet reshuffle.

According to the official sources, the expansion of the union cabinet will be held at 6 pm today, at PM's residence. As many as 43 leaders are expected to take oath as Union Ministers in the union cabinet expansion, to be held later today. However, no update has been received regarding who will be the new Education Minister.

Based on the reports, G Kishan Reddy and Anurag Thakur are likely to be promoted in the cabinet.

Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Sarbananda Sonowal, GK Reddy, Kiren Rijiju, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Parshottam Rupala and Anupriya Patel have left from 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, News Agency ANI reported.
