As Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to extend the nationwide lockdown till May 3rd, Indian Railways also suspended all trail services till the date. Communicating through official Twitter handle, Indian Railways announced to suspend all passenger train services including premium train, Mail trains, express trains, suburban trains, Kolkata metro, Konkan Railway etc till 2400 hours of 3rd May.
Taking measures from Prime Minister Modi's announcement on extension of lockdown nationwide till 3rd May, following that Indian Railways issued order to suspend all train services. ‘All passenger train services on Indian Railways including Suburban, Konkan Railway, Kolkata metro, express train, Mail, passenger and others to remain suspended, said Ministry.
Indian Railways has issued order after lockdown extension in country. Railways all train services to remain suspended except essential services being running during 21 days' lockdown. In its social media tweet Indian Railways, intimated on Tuesday that all Train services including Passenger trains, Mail, Express, Intercity, Suburban, Premium and all other services have put on suspension.
The decision came just after Prime Minister's decision taken on lockdown extension till 3rd May. In his address to the nation Prime Minister Modi rolled out the decision taken by Central Government on lockdown after assessment of current situation. PM also hinted that for next one week strict vigilance will be done across all states and UTs, in case the Covid19 cases do not increase may be facilitated with some conditional relieves.

Taking cognizance of the matter and guidelines laid down by Government, Indian Railways suspended the train services till 3rd May, 2020. However the services of supllyof essential services across states, UTs to remain open.
On other hand Ministry of Civil Aviation also suspended the all domestic and international scheduled airlines till 11-59PM, May 3rd, as Ministry tweeted.
Ticket fair to be refunded, syas IRCTC
IRCTC on Tuesday said that 'for trains cancelled by Indian Railways, full refund will be provided automatically by IRCTC, .Users need not to cancel their e-tickets. Full fare will be credited back into users accounts from whih payment was made. Earlier Indian Railways after the Prime Minister's decision on lockdown extension, cancelled the train services.
