It has been recently reported that the pictures of the first model of HAL AMCA aircraft have been disclosed to the general public. The first model of this aircraft will be showcased at Aero India 2021 in Bengaluru on 3rd Feb 2021. AMCA will be India's first Indigenously built 5th gen stealth aircraft.

As per defense sources, AMCA will be a single-seat, twin-engine, stealth all-weather multi-role fighter aircraft. India’s air force chief has said that AMCA will have “sixth-generation characteristics”. Feasibility study on AMCA and the preliminary design stage have been completed, and the project entered the detailed design phase in February 2019.

A CAD model of the aircraft was shown at Aero India 2019. AMCA will reportedly be unveiled in 2024. A total of four prototypes are planned initially, and the first flight is expected in 2024 or 2025.
