England captain Eoin Morgan hit a hundred off 57 balls against Afghanistan. This is now the 4th fastest hundred in a World Cup.

Eoin Morgan, the England captain, went past 200 sixes in ODIs and raced away to his 13th ODI hundred and his 1st in a World Cup. smashed 11 sixes in his innings to get to first World Cup hundred off 57 balls. Morgan made 148 runs in just 71 balls with 17 massive sixes and 4 fours in his inning.
Ireland's Kevin O'Brien holds the record for the fastest World Cup hundred off 50 balls -  it had also come against England in a record run chase in 2011.
England set a massive score in Manchester against Afghanistan with a total of 397/6 in 50 overs. Johny Bairstow and Joe Root also made their confidence booster half centuries with 90, 88 runs respectively. The hosts England made a huge total against win less Afghanistan. In Afghanistan perspective, Naib and Dawlat Zadran picking up 3 wickets each. Now it seems to be a record breaking run chase for Afghanistan if they do in their second innings.
