ICC World Cup 2019: Australia vs Pakistan, Ausies walk into the game as slight favourites

Defending Champions Australia will take on Pakistan on June 12 in the 17th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Aaron Finch and his men will eye to regain their position on the points table after losing their previous match to India. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Ahmed's side will try to maintain their ongoing momentum in their upcoming match with the all mighty Ausies.

Australia has one of the most aggressive batting attacks in the world, with Steven Smith, David Warner and Aaron Finch capable to destroy any bowling attack. Finch, in particular, was on fire against Pakistan in a bilateral series in April, and he will look forward to continue his form. Warner meanwhile scored a slow fifty against India and looked out of touch but showed his mettle in the IPL, while Smith is in fine form after his return to international cricket.

Pakistan too have one of the most promising batters at the top of the order. Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaaman and Imam-ul-Haq have created waves with their batting in the last few years. Pakistan also have good pacers like Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz standing tall in the competition thus far. With the top order and the bowling going neck-to-neck, the result of this game will likely be decided in the middle overs. The defending champions seem the favorite in this match against the Asian giants Pakistan.

Head to head: 5-4 in favor of Australia.

Facts: Pakistan have just a single victory in their last 14 One-Day Internationals against Australia. The Ausies smashed Pakistan 5-0 in their last ODI series in UAE.

The Ausies pacer doing a fine job in the World Cup so far with ball as well batting performance especially Nathan Coulter-Nile who scored a match winning knock of 92 runs against West Indies, this is a plus-point in favor of the all mighty Ausies.
