The Lion King Box Office Collection Day 7 - Jon Favreau directional Disney's remake of the 1994 animated classic of the same name, the film collected Rs 5.65 crore on Thursday. Its total box office collection, after a week-long run in cinemas, stands at Rs 81.57 crore. The film crossed the Rs 50-crore mark in its opening weekend itself, giving a tough challenge to some of the Bollywood films like Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 and now the film will also clashes with Kangana Ranaut's much-hyped Judgementall Hai Kya and Arjun Kapoor's Arjun Patiala at the silver-screen from today onwards.
The Lion King is the second Hollywood film of 2019 to cross the Rs 50-crore mark in its opening weekend in India. Before this, Avengers: Endgame set a benchmark by making Rs 50 crore on its opening day in India.
Directed by Jon Favreau, The film's box office collection was Rs 6.25 crore on Wednesday and Rs 5.65 crore on Thursday, thus making the total box office collection of the film up-to an impressive of Rs 81.57 crore in its first week.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on his Twitter account, shared that the film's Weekend 2 collection will "give an idea" of its lifetime business.Divulging the box-office figures of the film, he wrote, #TheLionKing is a success story... The Lion King is successful in India also as due to the makers include Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan, which gave their voice to characters of Mufasa and Simba respectively in the Hindi version of the film. Sunidhi Chauhan and Armaan Malik have sung for Hindi version.
On the other side, Hollywood stars in the form of Donald Glover, Beyonce, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and John Oliver have lent their voice to the original version of the film.
The Lion King hit the screens on July 19, 2019.
