The Lion King Box Office Collection Day 4 - Jon Favreau directional Disney remake "The Lion King" has been going smoothly in theaters since four days. The Disney live-action remake of the 1994 classic 'The Lion King' released across 2,140 screens in India and in four languages - English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, scored an impressive amount of over Rs 54 crore in its opening weekend. Released on July 19, The Lion King has to face a tough competition from Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30' during the week and Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya come this Friday, surely affects its box office collections. The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. The film tells about the classic tale with photo-realistic and computer-generated animation. The film-maker had earlier directed the 2016 global blockbuster - The Jungle Book.

The film's box office collection on Monday was Rs 7.90 crore, the third highest ever for Hollywood in India after the two Marvel blockbusters - Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. thus, the total box office collections of the film reached upto the Rs 62.65 crore so far in just 4 days of its release. Also, The film opens in double digits on his opening day and made an impressive Rs 11.06 crore with a gross of Rs 13.17 in all versions in the domestic market.
 
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Ararsh tweeted "'The Lion King' sets the box office on fire... Trends much, much better than 'The Jungle Book'," he adding: "The Lion King: is the only non-Avenger film to have a great opening weekend in India. Top three opening weekend business of Hollywood films in India - 'Avengers: Endgame' - Rs. 158.65 crore (2019); 'Avengers: Infinity War' - Rs. 94.30 crore (2018); 'The Lion King' - Rs 54.75 crore (2019)."
 
The Hindi version of the film is dubbed by Shah Rukh Khan has given his voice to Mufasa, while his son Aryan khan makes an entry into the film world by voicing the protagonist character Simba. Sunidhi Chauhan and Armaan Malik have sung for Hindi version.
 
Hollywood stars like Donald Glover, Beyonce, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and John Oliver have lent their voice to the original Hollywood version of the film.


The Lion King opened in India across 2,140 screens on July 19 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
