The Lion King box office collection Day 14: Jon Favreau Starrer merges the fourth BLOCKBUSTER of 2019

The Lion King box office collection Day 14 - Disney's live-action remake of 1994's animated film "The Lion King" has hit the target right among the audiences and did the box office collection of Rs 81.57 crores in the first week that included Rs 54.75 crores in the weekend and Rs 26.82 crores on weekdays. Released on July 19, the film has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Disney's latest release The Lion King seems to be heading for a strong second week even facing a tough challenge from Hindi films like Kangana Ranaut's Judgementall Hai Kya and still in the running Hrithik Roshan's Super 30. After recording an impressive opening box office collection, The Lion King put up a great show over its second weekend.

Directed by Jon Favreau, The film's box office collection was Rs 15.13 crore on Sunday, Rs 4.15 crore on Monday and Rs 3.50 crore and 3.31 crt, Tuesday, 3.15 cr. on Wednesday, 3.01 cr. on Thursday  thus making the total box office collection of the film up-to an impressive of Rs 127.32 crore approx.

The Lion King is successful in India also as due to the makers include Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan, which gave their voice to characters of Mufasa and Simba respectively in the Hindi version of the film. Sunidhi Chauhan and Armaan Malik have sung for Hindi version.

On the other side, Hollywood stars in the form of Donald Glover, Beyonce, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and John Oliver have lent their voice to the original version of the film.

The Lion King revolves around Simba who is next in line to become king. But after his father Mufasa is murdered, young Simba goes into self-imposed exile. However, the true heir to the throne must accept his destiny and return to his kingdom.

The Lion King hit the screens on July 19, 2019.
