Beyonce song 'Spirit' from The Lion King - The Lion King starring Donald Glover and Seth Rogen is more or less a remake of the 1994 original (it's not like that's necessarily a bad thing), it's not the only Lion King property that the movie draws from for 2019. Three years after it landed in theaters, The Lion King opened on Broadway and it's still running today - just last month it celebrated its 9,000th performance and it is currently sits as the third longest-running show, inching closer and closer to the #2 spot each day. With all that being said, it's also the highest-grossing musical ever, with over $8 billion earned worldwide. The movie is directed by Jon Favreau.
A week after releasing 'Spirit' from Disney's 'The Lion King', Pop singer-songwriter Beyonce has dropped the music video of the song. Spirit` comes as the title track for Beyonce`s, upcoming album 'The Lion King: The Gift'."I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa," The Hollywood Reporter quoted Beyonce as saying.
Pop star singer Beyonce called it a "love letter to Africa" and she also added, "I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it. Beyonce gives her sweet voice in the song, she looks attractive and appealing in all the bright dress which she wore in the music video.
Beyonce has also given her voice to Nala, Simba`s bae. Donald Glover has voiced Simba and James Earl Jones has lent his voice to Mufasa. The screenplay is written by Jeff Nathanson and songs by legends like Elton John and Tim Rice.
The film will hit the theatres on July 19 and will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
