With Phase 4, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding to new heights, and it all culminates with Doctor Strange 2, officially titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The sequel film will use storyline lines from Loki, WandaVision, and Spider-Man: No Way Home to create a storey that has the potential to be bigger than even Avengers: Endgame. But don't feel pressed. Doctor Strange 2 release date, cast, story, timeline, budget, director, trailer & more details have been given below.
The star cast includes:
The movie is directed by veteran comic book director Sam Raimi, who has previously directed hit films- Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, & Spider-Man 3.
Dr. Stephen Strange creates a prohibited spell that opens the door to the multiverse, including an alternate version of himself, whose threat to mankind is too great for Strange, Wong, and Wanda Maximoff's combined powers.
The first movie cost somewhere around USD165–236.6 million. As per some reports, this movie will cost more than USD 250 Million.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to debut in the United States on May 6, 2022. The sequel was supposed to be released on May 7, 2021. The COVID-19 epidemic, like most movie schedules, delayed those preparations. Doctor Strange 2 was pushed back several times, first to November 5, 2021, then to March 25, 2022, and finally to its present date, with Eternals assuming the November slot.
Doctor Strange 2 will take place following the events of WandaVision. As a result, it will be sometime in 2023. The film is also technically taking place after Loki, despite the fact that that show takes place in a different timeframe from the main MCU reality.
And, given that Strange will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange 2 will most likely take place after the events of that film. There's also the possibility of some crossover between the two films. Now that the multiverse and time travel are a thing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, pretty much everything is conceivable.
There has also been speculation that Tom Hiddleston will feature in Doctor Strange 2, however, this has yet to be verified. Bruce Campbell, a frequent collaborator of Sam Raimi and Evil Dead star, has also hinted that he would make a cameo in Doctor Strange 2.
Given the connection to Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's possible that Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, or Andrew Garfield will feature in the film. The Super Bowl 2022 video also indicates that Patrick Stewart may appear in the film, reprising his role as Professor X for the first time since 2017's Logan. As the release date approaches, we should have a better idea of what to expect.
