According to Govt officials, MNCs, BPOs and IT enabled services will have to allow their employees to work from home till July end. Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority’s CEO V S Kundu said in a statement that MNCs, IT, and BPO offices might have to allow their employees to work from home till July end. The step is taken to contain the spread of coronavirus. Gurgaon is one of the worst- affected district in Haryana. MNCs, IT, BPO offices in Gurgaon may have to 'work from home' till July end in view of COVID-19 crisis, said Senior H'yana govt official on Sunday.
CEO of Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority said that certain real estate projects which are stuck amid coronavirus will be allowed to resume their construction work. Some projects including DLF , have got the green signal to start their operations after following social distancing norms and taking adequate precautions.
Gurugram is considered to be a millennium city and the BPOs and technology giants operate from the city. Kundu , additional chief secretary of Haryana announced that all the MNCs and other offices may have to allow their employees to work from home in order to curb the spread of the contagious disease.
As of now it appears that for IT, BPO & MNC Companies advisory for 'Work from home' will continue till end of July. All those who have offices in Gurgaon should continue to work from home to the extent possible, Kundu said. He further said that some construction and manufacturing companies have been allowed to resume their operations only after taking strict precautions.
Construction sites where labourers are already staying on the site or those where labourers stay within walking distance are allowed to resume work while adhering to social distancing norms,' he said. Gurgaon has reported 51 coronavirus cases out of which 35 have been treated successfully.
