Haryana Govt freezes DA & DR of govt employees & pensioners, due to Covid19

Haryana state Government has ordered to freeze DA and DR of the state government employees for one year. On Monday Manohar Lal Khattar led Government issued order freezing Dearness Allowance (DA) & Dearness Relief (DR) for state government employees & pensioners respectively, at current rates till July 2021, due to COVID19. A letter from Under Secretary, Finance Department GoH, is circulated over freezing DA & DR of state govt employees and pensioners. The letter state that "In view of crises arising out of Covid19, it has been decided that additional instalment of Dearness Allowance payable to Haryana Government employees and Dearness allowances to Haryana govt pensioners, due from 1st January 2020 shall not be paid", Under Secretary writes.

It is also mentioned that, DA & DR at current rates i.e 17% will continue to be paid. The copy of the order is also shared on the official website of the Haryana Finance department.

Haryana Govt freezes DA & DR of govt employees- The decision is taken just hours after CM Manohar Lal Khattar chaired high level Cabinet Meeting on Monday. Earlier Haryana Government has hinted over the possible decision to cut DA & DR of govt employees and pensioners for one year till July 31st, 2021. The decision to freeze Dearness Allowance and Dearness is taken in view of shortage of state revenue and to cut overflow of funds. A letter written by Haryana Government's Finance Department in subject to freezing Dearness Allowances (DA) of Haryana state government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) of Haryana Government pensioners.

Note- It has been mentioned that DR of only government personal who have retired from state government services has been freezed. There has been no mention of cut in old age pensions and widow pensions in state.

The announcement had made by Chief Minister itself during lockdown in the month of May. Haryana Government has also ordered State Public Service Commission and Staff Selection Commission to halt new recruitments for one year. However the clarification has been made that no impact will take place on ongoing Haryana Police, Patwari, Gram Sachiv and other recruitments.
