Haryana state Government in its Cabinet Meeting has made announcements to increase the VAT, SAS on Petrol-Diesel, travel fare & other products of revenue. To overcome the deficit of state due to lockdown, the Government of Haryana has laid down the roadmap and in same direction on Thursday held Cabinet Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. In meeting it is decided that Govt to curb the extra spending, to increase VAT & SAS on Petrol-Diesel prices. The new prices of Petrol & Diesel will go ₹ 1.1 up & travel fares to increase from 15-75p per kilometre.
It is also decided that Government to curb lockdown deficit also going to impose 1% market fee and 1% HRDF which will result increase in prices of Fruits and Vegetables.
On Thursday Haryana Govt held review meeting over the present scenario in state amid lockdown and current situation due to Coronavirus pandemic. Along with taking big decision to reduce Government extra spending, hold on DA, DR of Government employees, ML Khattar led cabinet also put hold on new Govt jobs in state for one year. In addition Govt came out on Thursday with increase in prices of Petrol-diesel, travel fares, fruits & vegetables. However opposition party leaders including Congress leader Randip Surjewala, INLD leader Abhay Chautala alleged Khattar Government for aggressively imposing prices on common people.

Haryana Govt in cabinet meeting also decided to extra duty on liquor. This would add 1 Rupee extra charge per bottle from liquor shops and would result increase in prices of Wine & Beer in Haryana.
Govt on other hand also put hold on purchase of new vehicles for one year for Govt departments. The decision is taken to reduce extra spending from Govt hand. In addition CM Khattar on Thursday in press briefing also said that Govt has put 30% cut in salaries of MP & MLAs. Ex-MLAs have also donated in State relief fund, CM Khattar added in briefing held before Cabinet meeting.
Opposition leaders have alleged BJP-JJP led coalition government for knowingly collecting revenues from the pockets of poor and farmers by increasing unauthorised prices, increasing VAT, SAS. Opposition leaders have demanded hold on its decision to increase prices.
