The University Grant Commission (UGC) has directed Universities & Colleges to hold final term examinations by September end. Holding a meeting with UGC, Ministry of Human Resource Development has stressed over declaration of examinations result by November. In meeting it is discussed that Universities examinations can take place in the months of August & September and results can be declared by November. Earlier releasing new guidelines, UGC approved Higher Educational institutions to hold final year / semester examinations.
According to sources, UGC and HRD Ministry on Tuesday chaired a meeting over the issue and discussed over the new academic session. In meeting it is decided that Universities can declare final term examinations result by November 2020. New Academic session in varsities is also planned to start from November month. UGC has also assured institutions to keep the admission portal open till results of NEET and JEE Main competitive examinations declare.
On Tuesday HRD Ministry and University Grant Commission through video conference meeting discussed in detail the implementation of newly released UGC guidelines and future course of action. Brainstorming over the new academic session, UGC and MHRD consented to start new academic session from November month.
Working on the guidelines where UGC directed universities and colleges to hold final term exams by Sept, the future course of action also discussed in the meeting. From result declaration to conducting Entrance exams, from NEET / JEE results to new admissions, UGC & HRD ministry discussed guidelines in depth. After consent, taking a leaf from the discussion UGC directs Universities and Colleges to implement the guidelines strictly conducting final term exams by September end. It is also assured that final term examinations result would be declared by November 2020 & soon after academic activities to start. According to sources, in meeting held on Tuesday, UGC & MHRD have formatted a draft over the implementation of guidelines.

In meeting it is also decided that state governments who ordered to cancel the final year/ term examinations can also direct institutions to conduct final year/ semester exams in accordance to UGC guidelines.
