NTA has declared JEE Main 2020 results on Sept 11, 2020, in late afternoon. Agency declared Online Computer Based Examination result of Joint Entrance Examination April/ Sept 2020, held between 1-6 Sept, 2020. Concerned can check JEE Main result/ score card along with All India Rank and All India Category Rank along with the results. In January 2020 Joint Entrance Exam a total 9 candidates scored the 100% marks. Result declared in record time

The result of JEE Main April/ Sept 2020 is declared in a record time of 8 days. This is for the very first time JEE result is declared in very short span of time.

A total 24 candidates score 100 per cent

A total of 24 candidates have scored 100 per cent in the JEE (Main) January and April/ September- 2020 examination. Nine candidates scored in January session and 15 candidates scored in April/Sept JEE Main.

Seat Allocation Process and Admission Procedure

Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE (Main) 2020 through a Seat Allocation Process to be announced later CSAB/ JoSAA. The candidates will be able to make their choices online for branches/ programs and institutes at appropriate time. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the JEE (Main) websites: for latest information. The verification of documents would be done at the time of Seat Allocation Process/admission. The purpose would be to verify different records regarding identification, age, qualifying examination, State of eligibility, category and disability (if any) of the candidate. On failing to produce any of the authentic documents, the candidate will not be considered for admission.

JEE Main Score Card

The NTA scores and rank of B.E./B.Tech of JEE (Main)–2020 for all candidates who appeared in January 2020 as well as in April/ Sept 2020 will be declared by along with JEE Main April/ Sept 2020 results. This shall comprise of the four NTA scores obtained by the candidate in first attempt, four NTA scores obtained in second attempt and four NTA scores for those appeared in both the attempts (best of the two Total NTA scores) along with the status of those who qualify for appearing in JEE (Advanced)–2020 provided and subject to other conditions of eligibility being met. The rank shall comprise All India rank and All India category rank.

JEE Main held on re-scheduled dates

On the request of the students, the JEE (Main) and NEET (UG), which were earlier scheduled to be held in the month of July, were postponed to be held in the month of September 2020. In view of the academic interest of the students, JEE Main April exam re-scheduled from 1-09-2020 to 6-9-2020.

Display of Result of B.Arch and B.Planning

JEE (Main)April- 2020 B.Arch and B.Planning conducted in two or more shifts, the NTA scores obtained by all the candidates who appeared in April/ Sept 2020 as well as for the January 2020 will be merged for compilation of result and preparation of overall Merit List / Ranking. Those appeared in both the attempts; their best of the two NTA scores will be considered for further processing. (ii) In case of a tie, i.e. when two or more candidates obtain equal Total Scores in JEE(Main)-2020, interse merit of such candidates shall be determined according to rules for NTA JEE Main.

Eligibility Criteria for Appearing in JEE Advanced 2020

The minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE Advanced 2020 is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of Class 12th or equivalent qualifying examination in their respective Board examinations. Those appearing in these examinations in 2020 can also appear in JEE (Advanced)- 2020. All the candidates aspiring to take admission to the undergraduate programs at IITs for the year 2020 will have to appear in the B. E. /B. Tech. of JEE (Main)-2020. Based on the performance in the B. E / BTech of JEE (Main)-2020, number of top candidates as per the requirement of JEE (Advanced) (including all categories) will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced)-2020. A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years irrespective of whether or not he/she passed the Qualifying Examination. The candidates, who have attempted JEE (Main) /JEE (Advanced) in 2018 or earlier, are NOT ELIGIBLE to appear in JEE (Advanced)–2020.

Admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFIs, State Engineering Colleges

Admission to B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning. Courses in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12thclass examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class / Qualifying examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12thclass / qualifying examination.

Note- For admissions into IITs, requirement of Board exam marks in top 20 percentile has been scrapped for the current 2020-21 academic year.

JEE Main Score Card 2020 on Mobile

To download the JEE Main 2020 Score card on your mobile, student need to follow some instructions as laid briefed here. Candidates who do not have access to Computers / Laptops can check/ download their JEE Main Score card for April/ Sept 2020 using their Smartphones. Initially candidates need to browse on their smartphone. Concerned, looking for the 'JEE Main April/ September Result 2020' link, will require to open the same link in their smartphones. After opening of the Result/Scorecard window, candidates will need to enter their JEE Main Enrolment No/ Application No and Password/ Date of Birth in respective columns. 

JEE Main 2020 Rank preparation in case of tie

In case of a tie, i.e. when two or more candidates obtain equal Total NTA Score in JEE(Main)-2020, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined in following order: Rank list for admission to B.E. /B. Tech. (in institutions other than IITs): NTA score in Mathematics, followed by NTA score in Physics, followed by-

  • NTA score in Chemistry, followed by
  • Candidates with less proportion of negative responses, followed by
  • Candidates older in age
  • If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given the same rank.
JEE Main 2020 Rank Preparation

As the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is conducted twice a year, the rank is calculated on the basis of candidates having better marks in any of the examination. The NTA scores for each of the candidates in Total in B.E./B.Tech of JEE(Main) January -2020 as well as for the April 2020 will be merged for compilation of result and preparation of overall Merit List/ Ranking. Those candidates who appeared in both the attempts; their best of the two NTA scores (total) will be considered for further processing

9 Candidates scored 100 per cent in January session

A total 9 candidates had scored a 100 per cent marks in the JEE Mains January 2020 exam. The toppers for the January 2020 session entrance exam included Nishant Agarwal from Delhi, Nisarg Chadha from Gujarat, Divyanshu Agarwal from Haryana, Landa Jitendra and Thadavarthi Vishnu Sri Sai Sankar from Andhra Pradesh, Akhil Jain & Parth Dwivedi from Rajasthan, Rongala Arun Siddardha and Chagari Koushal Kumar Reddy from Telangana.
