Supreme Court seeks reply from Centre on NEET 2020 postponement

NTA NEET 2020: Supreme Court of India seeks reply from Centre and Medical Council of India (MCI), on plea for examination centres in Gulf countries or postponement of the exam, news Agency ANI tweeted. On Wednesday hearing a plea, Supreme Court asked MCI & Central Government over reply on pleas filed in SC for exam centres in gulf countries or postponement of the Exam.

It should be noted that National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts NEET (UG) examination in several gulf countries and amid ongoing pandemic situation, NTA is yet to decide to hold NEET examination in Gulf countries or to postpone the examination further. NTA NEET exam which was scheduled to held on 3rd May has been postponed severally bu the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), amid pandemic.

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will also be made through NEET. Indian Citizens/ Overseas Citizens of India intending to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses from a foreign (Medical/ Dental/ Ayurveda/ Siddha/ Unani/ Homeopathy) Institute need to qualify NEET (UG) - 2020.
