The Chief Executive Officer and Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav has written to the General Managers of all Railway zonals regarding conduct of Indian Railways exam. Yadav in his letter has asked all zonals to make necessary cooperation to conduct stage 1 online computer based examination starting from 15 December. Chairman hints out that holding the computer-based examination for pending recruitments in the current situation would be a challenge, but the examination would be conducted following the safety norms, per Govt of India released SOP.
Railways is conductng computer based test for the pending recruitment exams inclusive of RRB NTPC, Ministerial and Isolated categories, and Railway Group D posts, from December 15, 2020.
According to the a report published in Dainik Jagran, Railway Board Chairman directs Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) to make necessary cooperation so that there is no problem in conducting the examination. "The process of holding online examination by RRBs could be longer and may extend up to June 2021 and RRB will require logistic support to conduct these exams", writes Yadav.
In the letter the concerned zonal heads have been asked to issue instructions to provide Human Resources and vehicles as well as other basic facilities. The guidelines issued to prevent the Covid-19 infection to be followed during the examination, says RRB Chairman Yadav.
Candidates waiting for the RRB NTPC and RRC Group D Exam, for which the exam dates are yet to be finalized, are here assured that the Railways would be conducting the online stage 1 exams till June 2021. The fixture shall likely include both RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (Graduate and Undergraduate) and RRC CEN 1/2019 Group D, against which more than two crore applicants to appear.

Earlier in his statement Railway CEO assured that the pending recruitment exams to be conducted from mid of December. The first stage examination date for the 35,208 posts in Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC - Graduate and Undergraduate), and RRC Group D (Track Maintainer, Pointsman & other posts), is yet to be finalized even after 18 months have passed when Railways received online applications. Whereas, for the recruitment of 1611 posts under Ministerial and Isolated Categories, RRB Ajmer has officially prepared the exam schedule.

Single stage computer based examination for the posts under Ministerial and Isolated catgeories (CEN No. 03/2019) to be conducted from 15/12/2020 (Tuesday). Exam date, city details, and stage 1 admit card are scheduled to be released 4-10 days before the examination.
