In view of the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in India, a section of students demands the NEET PG 2021 exam to be postponed. Launching #postponeneetpg2021, a social media campaign thousand of students raised the protest against the decision to conduct the NEET PG exam on 18th April.
The examination is conducted with an aim to shortlist candidates on the basis of performance for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in participating Medical and Dental Colleges/Universities across the country.
Extending his support, Srinan Pal Singh an aspirant of NEET PG 2021 writes, "Young doctors are critical to lives of citizens in #coronavirusIndia times They feel tremendous work stress We need to do everything to ensure they arent exposed to unnecessary health risks&extra burden in these times Absolutely urgent to #postponeneetpg till this surge goes down".

A petition on change.org has been filed by the students and has been signed by 582 candidates at the time of the report. The petitioners ask the National Board of Examination (NBE) to postpone the 18/04/2021 scheduled examination due to COVID-19.

On other hand, NBE Chairman Pwanindra Lal in a recent tweet announced the guidelines for NEET PG 2021. According to Lal, for COVID appropriate behavior with additional use of Protective Gear will be taken for enhanced safety of the candidates.
The National Board of Examination has decided to release the NEET PG admit card 2021 on Monday, April 12. The examination has been scheduled on April 18, 2021 (Sunday)
