The Cabinet Meeting has approved the setting up of National Recruitment Agency (NRA) and during the meeting has outlined the Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2020. NRA has been approved a central agency for the Recruitment of IBPS, RRB & SSC examinations, initially. Agency will conduct Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the recruitment of multiple government jobs in Central Banks, Central Govt departments/ agencies. It is also proposed that CET exam will be held across 1,000 examination centres and students will have to appear for NRA CET in home district centres.
National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will start conducting CET eligibility test every year and examination to be conducted twice every year, Cabinet minister said during media interaction. To fulfil the long pending demand of students to bring examination centres in home districts, Union Cabinet on Wednesday fulfils it by approving setting of NRA.
NRA CET exam at 1,000 centres:
Union Minister Jitendra Singh in presence of Minister Prakash Javadekar & SSC Chairman announced that National Recruitment Agency will start holding Common Eligibility Test across the country and at about 1,000 examination centres the CET will be organized twice every year. Students will be provided the option to fill the nearby examination centres.
Each district will have one CET examination centre and this will help students to not move to other districts/ states for the Govt recruitment examinations. “Job aspirants belonging to rural areas, female candidates and Divyangs will be benefitted most after implementation of this”, Minister Jitendra Singh said.
NRA CET for Railway, Banking and SSC:
Initially the NRA Common Eligibility Test (CET) will be organized for the recruitment of vacancies in Railways, Bank and SSC. Railway NTPC CBT 1 Ministerial & Isolated categories first stage examinations will be conducted by the NRA. Similarly, IBPS, SBI & other banking examinations will be conducted under NRA CET. SSC Group C posts recruitment examinations will also be conducted by National Recruitment Agency. The NRA CET examination will be conducted Online and this will reduce the burden from the other recruitment agencies, Union Minister Jitendra Singh added.
