NEET 2021 Date: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2021 will be held only once this year and the date for the examination to be decided this week, DG NTA Vineet Joshi confirmed on Thursday.
According to a report published in an English daily, Vineet Joshi Director General of NTA said that the date of the NEET 2021 examination will be announced this week. The examination will be held once in the year 2021, he added.
The announcements of NEET 2021 dates, to out this week and single chance, bring the mixed responses from the candidates. Candidates who were waiting for the NEET 2021 exam dates and multiple attempts are somehow disappointed as NTA DG clears that the NEET exam will be conducted only once this year. Although, NTA has given four attempts in the JEE.
NEET 2021 Number of attempts: Following the announcement of four attempts this year for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) for admissions to Engineering and other UG programmes, students had expected and also appealed for multiple attempts for NEET-UG 2021.
Earlier, while speaking to TOI, Amit Khare, Secretary, Higher Education had said that although there were demands for multiple sessions in the online mode, biology students might need more time to practise and get used to the computer-based exam. Thus, he added, before any such decision, they will be intimated six to eight months in advance.
Earlier, Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal had said that the Ministry of Education is considering conducting NEET 2021 in Online mode and more than once, just like JEE Main 2021.
NEET 2021 Exam Dates this Week:
According to the sources, the NEET 2021 examination will be held after Board exams in Pen-Paper mode in the month of June or July. However, an official announcement regarding this is expected to be out this week. Once the NEET dates are announced and the application form is released candidates will be able to register for the National level MBBS & BDS admission cum entrance test.
NEET 2021 Syllabus & Pattern:
According to the National Testing Agency, the Syllabus of NEET will remain unchanged for the Year 2021. Unlike previous years, this year the candidates will have options to answer the questions in these Examinations. The exact pattern for NEET (UG) 2021 is expected to be announced this week.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NEET Undergraduate exam for admission to various undergraduate medical programs, including Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS).
For NEET UG 2020 approximately 15 lakh candidates had registered for the entrance test. The examination was to be held in the month of May postponed thrice to September. The examination was held on Sep 13, 2020 and Oct 14, 2020.
