Jawaharlal Nehru University issued notification regarding the closing of the University because of the covid-19 infection. JNU University will be closed till 17 May, 2020.
On Sunday (3 May, 2020), Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi issued a notification stating that the University will remain closed till 17 May, 2020. The authority also asked the students to stay at their places and to not return to campus until further notice. The notification of date extention was issued after the Home Ministry of India announced extension of lockdown till 17 May, 2020 last week.
JNU had also issued a notification last week (30 April, 2020) stating the postponement of registration for University Examination due to prevailing circumstances in the nation. The deadline has been extended till 15 May, 2020.
Different universities like Delhi University, IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) have also extended their dates regarding campus remaining close and also for registration for university examinations. CGL, UPSC, NEET etc. examination dates have also been extended by the respective authorities because of the lockdown.
