Postpone JEE Main 2021: After the CBSE board postponed the class 12th board exams a large section of students request the authorities to differ the JEE Main April & May 2021 examination as the number of cases of Coronavirus are increasing across the country. Lodging a social media campaign thousands of students started demanding the National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone the April 27 - 30 scheduled JEE Main examination.
Citing the health and safety concerns amid the ongoing situation due to COVID-19, students started an online campaign with #PostponeJEEMain2021. They ask NTA to shift the examination dates as scheduled in the last week of April 2021.
The virus (CoVID-19) allegedly started from Wuhan, China, is causing a large number of infection and casualties all across the world. Under the second wave of COVID-19, several states in India including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Chhattisgarh have severely affected. India on April 16, registered an all-time high when over 2.17 lakh new cases emerged in the last twenty-four hours.
As per the reports, the demand to postpone the JEE Main April & May 2021 scheduled exams increased from the side of students after the CBSE board decided to postpone the Class 12 exams. Following the decision taken by CBSE, several states and Union Territories have postponed or cancelled the board exams.
"JEE Mains April Shift exam is scheduled to be held at the end of April. Daily Covid cases are increasing exponentially. I think it's not fair to take the exam at this condition", a student writes on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 is scheduled to be held four times this year. The exam has been held successfully in February and March 2021 with an aim to categorise applicants performance for admission to B.E/B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning etc Technological courses. The JEE Main April 2021 session examination is scheduled to be held between April 27 and April 30.
