The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CICSE) on Monday tells the Bombay High Court that Board has provides option to students to not take Class 10th ICSE examinations. ICSE shall likely conduct the Class 10 examination in July 2020, but students also have option to not take ICSE Class 10th Exams, Board said.
According to the schedule ICSE Class 10th examinations for Maharashtra state were to be held in July (Between 2-12 July), but now seem cancelled. Students of Class 10th ICSE Board Maharashtra are now have option to not take ICSE Matric examinations re-scheduled in July 2020.
According to the time table, the ICSE Board Class 10 examination was to be conducted from July 2 to July 12. There are a total of 226 ICSE Affiliated Schools in Maharashtra and about 23,347 students were to appear in Class 10 Examinations scheduled in July 2020. According to latest decision by Council, option to opt out has been provided to Students for Class 10th Exams for Maharashtra.
Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) 10th Class examinations earlier postponed from March month to July 2020 over unfavorable situation due to coronavirus. Earlier Hon’ble Bombay High Court during the hearing proposed two options to ICSE over Class 10th examinations in Maharashtra state. The High Court asked ICSE to think over two options i.e to conduct Class 10th Exams in July 2020 and second one to promote students on Internal / Pre-board exams.

Both of these options are working now. The next hearing in the same matter will be held on Wednesday, Bombay High Court said.
Initially the said ICSE Board Class 10th examinations were scheduled between 27 February and 30 March, but due to COVID-19 outbreak, the examinations were postponed scheduled from 19 March 2020.
