DU further postpones OBE exams 2020: Delhi HC asks varsity to file affidavit on Open Book Exams

Delhi University has postponed Online OBE exams, which were to start from 10 July, 2020. DU on Wednesday reviewing the situation decided to further postpone online Open Book Exams. Official notice citing postponement of final semester/ term/ year examinations including exams of SOL and NCWEB in Open Book Examination (OBE) mode, released at du.ac.in. DU OBE exams were to start from 10 July 2020 onwards, now stands postponed, University states. The decision comes a day after students of various colleges started protesting against DU OBE exams at social media.

Delhi University through postpone notice states, “with reference to the notification issued on 27th June, 2020, it is hereby notified for information to all concerned that the Open Book Examination (OBE) for all streams of Final year/ Semester/ Term of Undergraduate and postgraduate students including SOL and NCWEB scheduled to be held from 10th July, 2020 stands postponed.

Earlier University had started conducting Online mock-test for OBE exams. University had released date sheets for Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses for Regular, SOL & NCWEB. Following the technical glitches & network problem, thousand of students started online campaign to scrap online OBE exams.

July 9, 2020- Delhi High Court directs DU to file affidavit detailing schedule of final year undergraduate exams, postponed to beyond Aug 15. On thursday Delhi High Court asked Delhi University to file an affidavit mentioning the date-sheet and other details for the conduct of the final year OBE examinations. Students should keep updating from official website.

DU New OBE Dates: Delhi University states that new notification for the conduct of the examinations along with the revised date sheets and other information shall be provided on the official website of the University in due course of time. The University of Delhi would notify on official website du.ac.in on new date sheets. Likely the Open Book Examinations for DU final term students shall start after 10 August 2020.
