University Grant Commission (UGC) has asked the University of Delhi (DU) to conduct Online Open Book examinations after August 15, 2020, a report says. UGC getting approval from HRD Ministry has released guidelines for University examinations asking to hold final year examinations by September end. Commission has also suggested University and Colleges to keep the admission portal open till JEE Main and NEET results come.
After the revised UGC guidelines on University examinations now it has been suggested to Delhi University to hold Open Book Examinations after 15th August 2020. DU administration is asked to postpone OBE exams starting from 10th July to at least a month. The decision is taken at a time when students are protesting against the Online OBE exams, citing technical and internet connection problems. However, the University has suggested to conduct Physical Examinations in September month, in Delhi High Court.
On Monday, University Grant Commission (UGC) reviewing the current situation over Covid, after committee’s recommendations released the new guidelines. UGC asked all state & central Universities / colleges to hold examinations (Online/ Offline / Online+Offline) for final term students by September end.
Union Minister for Human Resources and Development Dr Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal chairing meeting with the UGC & HRD Ministry officials reached to a consent to start academic sessions from November month. In meeting it is also decided that Universities & Colleges to keep open the admission portals until the results of Engineering & Medical Entrance exams 2020 come.

In meeting held on Tuesday, UGC & MHRD formatted a draft over the revised guidelines, sources said.
