Amid spike of Covid19 cases in India, school students raise their demands to cancel the Board exams 2021, especially for Secondary and Senior Secondary levels. A petition demanding to reverse its decision or review the decision taken by CBSE board of holding Board exams as per schedule', over one lakh students have logged into change.org.
Even on social media, thousands of students are lodging their protest against holding CBSE board exams amid the second wave of Covid-19 in India where states like Maharashtra are observing over 60 thousand cases on daily basis.
While the CBSE board has clarified that the Board exams for Classes 10th and 12th will be held as per schedule, over One lakh students across the country have signed a petition at change.org to reconsider its decision.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, not only students but parents and a section of teachers have also agreed to reconsider the decision taken by the CBSE Board. Students have also agreed to move a petition to the High Court. "We are going to file petition to High Court Of India! #cancelboardexam2021", a student writes on micro blogging site Twitter.
A section of students has also agreed to take Board exams online. "We are ready to take exams online either from our homes or school premises", a student told an English Daily. Teachers on other hand feel that holding online exams would be tougher than passing students without holding exams. However, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to take a final decision on the cancellation of Board exams.
Amid student's demand of cancellation or holding online exams, it is expected that Board will soon clarify its stance on holding Class 10 and 12 Board exams 2021.
