Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi asks University Grant Commission to cancel all the examinations due to Covid19. Taking to his twitter account Rahul Gandhi says "it's unfair to conduct exams during COVID-19, exams should be cancelled. Gandhi further says that UGC must hear the voice of the students and academics. Exams should be cancelled and students promoted on basis of past performance. The message came after several states have decided to cancel the University examinations. On other hand reviewing the situation University Grant Commission (UGC) on July 5, released the revised guidelines allowing Universities to hold final year/ semester exams by September end.
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday tweeted a video message urging UGC to cancel the University/ Colleges examinations over pandemic. He asked UGC to consider past performance of students in preparing results.
According to reports, after UGC guidelines to hold University exams by Sept, students and parents have also started raising their demands to scrap the final term exams, citing the safety issues. Maharashtra, Punjab & several other state governments have urged to review the announcement made by UGC.

Earlier on Thursday, UGC Secretary clarified its decision to hold final year examinations. UGC in its clarification said "it is very important to hold final year exams in view of validity of marksheet". UGC has released revised guidelines on University and College examinations 2020, Commission has directed all state & central universities to hold final year/ semester exams by September end.
