A decision on whether the Assam Board Exams 2021 for class 10 and 12 be postponed or not, to be taken by the State Government today. Assam Class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled to be held in May-June are expected to be differed due to ongoing situation due to Covid19 in state however, the decision is due to Monday, May 3.
Assam state students urge authorities to either postpone or cancel the board exams 2021 for Class 10 and 12. Citing the increase in COVID-19 cases in the state, students have launched a social media trend with '#postponeboardexams2021'.
Assam SEBA and AHSEC have scheduled to conduct class 10 and 12 exams respectively from May 11 to June 1, 2021. However, Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or AHSEC has postponed the exams of Higher Secondary First Year 2021 or HS 1st Year. Board had told that the decision on Class 10 and 12 board exams would be taken within 10 days.
"Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier appealed to SEBA and AHSEC to conduct discussions with the relevant stakeholders regarding the Assam board Exam 2021 and take a decision within the next 10 days," a report of Jagran.com says.
According to the sources, approx. 4 lakh students are expected to appear for the class 10 and 12 exams 2021. Raising the safety concerns students and teachers of the state are hoping that the exams to get postponed so that no further transmission of Covid19 will occur.
