Due to a surge in COVID-19 cases across the country the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has cancelled the entrance test that was scheduled from June 20 to July 11. The University has informed that in view of the increase in number of cases of the COVID-19 , the entrance examination schedule for 2021-22 will be revised and updated soon.
“In view of resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic, the Admission Test schedule for the session 2021-22 notice released on -03.04.2021 stands withdrawn. Fresh schedule for the AMU Admission tests for the session 2021-22 will be notified in due course of time,” the official notification read.
"The End-Semester University Examinations for the Session 2020-21 shall be held only in the Online mode as per the schedule which will be notified in due course of time", adds official notice.
In the latest notification, AMU also has advised students to leave the hostels and return back to their homes. “Due to rising cases of COVID-19 across India, the situation has become alarming and there is a danger of epidemic occurring in hostels also. Therefore, all the students are advised to leave the hostels and go to their respective homes,” the official notification read.

AMU, on April 5, had issued the revised guidelines for tackling the COVID-19 to all the employees over 45 years of age to get vaccinated for COVID-19. AMU had asked all its staff members including teachers, students, and employees to follow the guidelines that include- wearing a face mask, maintaining social distancing across the premises.
