JEE Main 2020: CSAB changes criterion for admission to NITs and CFTIs

JEE Main 2020: Central Seat Allocation Board revises criterion for admissions to NITs and CFTIs. Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday tweeted about the decision taken by CSAB in relaxing percentile marks (75% or top 20 percentile) in Board exams. JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates will now only need to obtain a passing certificate in class XII examination irrespective of the marks obtained, HRD Minister tweets. 

Union HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday said that the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has decided to relax the eligibility criterion for admissions to NITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. The decision is taken in view of the coronavirus pandemic situation and addressing students grievances. Taking to his official official twitter handle Minister wrote, “JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates will now only need to obtain a passing certificate in class XII examination irrespective of the percentile marks. 

For admissions in NITs & other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, apart from qualifying JEE Main, the eligibility is to secure a minimum of 75% marks in XII Board exams or rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations. Due to prevailing circumstances, Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has decided to relax the eligibility criterion for admissions to NITs and other CFTIs.
