Delhi Chief Minister has written letter to PM Modi for opening of Private Offices with 50 percent capacity of workforce in the fourth phase of lockdown. CM also expressed his views on opening of shops, market complexes, partial transport movement and also resuming of metro services. On Friday CM through his letter to PM suggested on relaxations Delhi Govt wants in the fourth phase of lockdown from 17 May. A report also suggested that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is also ramping up to resume it’s services after Government’s green signal.
According to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's letter to Prime Minister the relaxations from Delhi Government are suggested for non-containment zones only. Sources said that Chief Minister wrote that there should not be any relaxation in Containment zones, but economic activities should resume in rest part of national capital.
Prime Minister Modi had sought suggestions from Chief Ministers on relaxations they want in fourth phase of lockdown after May 17. Nationwide lockdown has been enforced to contain novel-Coronavirus. PM in his recent address to the nation said that Lockdown 4 will be different.
In suggestions Delhi Chief Minister asked PM for functioning of Private offices at 50 percent capacity, shops in odd/even rules and partial resume in Transport services including Delhi Metro. Stating his suggestion Delhi CM said Delhi Metro services should resume for Government employees and those with e-Passes. Market Complexes should open on odd/even basis. Delhi Chief Minister also added in his letter that it may lead to some increase in Covid19 cases but Delhi Government has made appropriate arrangements to deal with it in terms of ramping up medical infrastructure.
Delhi CM also recommended that shopping malls should open with the condition that only 33% shops would open on a single day and the management of Malls would be responsible to enforce this stipulation. He also suggested that partial transport movement should be allowed functioning including e-Rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, cyclerickshaws etc that they shall carry only one passenger. Taxi-Cabs including Can aggregators should be allowed with the condition that apart from the Driver, only two passengers are allowed, the letter said.
