IIT Delhi develops ‘Kawach' to fight Covid19, can replace N95 masks, claims Professor

Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has developed ‘Kawach' mask to fight Covid19 and claimed to be efficient as N95 masks. IIT Delhi Assistant Professor claims that Institute developed Kawach mask may replace N95 which is much costly. Revealing the ‘Kawach' mask, IIT Delhi Assistant Professor Bipin Kr said, the Kawach mask can be developed with indigenous textile technology and it will only cost ₹45 and can work as similar to N95 mask which cost more than it.

Assistant Professor of IIT Delhi claims that 'Kawach' mask is designed and developed by Institute with indigenous textile technology and can be scaled up to reach maximum as it only cost ₹ 45. ‘Kawach mask can replace N95 masks which are one of the best, but price costly', said Asst. Professor.

IIT Delhi Institute is currently working on several other technologies required to fight Covid19. Institute has developed PPE equipments, face shield, Hand sanitizer and masks. On Monday, as ANI reported Bipin Kr, Asst. Professor at IIT-Delhi said now Institute has developed ‘Kawach’ masks.

As per the report designed and developed with indigenous textile technology Kawach mask is alternative of N95 mask. Kawach can be scaled easily to reach maximum people in comparison to N95 masks. On price, IIT Professor said we have kept price of Kawach at Rs 45.
